Jujubes are a very interesting fruit with an even more interesting history. From the Rhamnaceae or Buckthorn botanical family, they’ve been cultivated in China for more than 4,000 years. There are at least 400 jujube varieties, successfully developed for their distinctive characteristics — principally varieties best for eating fresh and others for drying to attain a chewy, date-like consistency.


Barberry is a large genus of deciduous and evergreen shrubs from 1–5 m (3.3–16.4 ft) tall, found throughout temperate and subtropical regions of the world (apart from Australia). Species diversity is greatest in South America and Asia; Europe, Africa and North America have native species as well.

Dried Fruit

The method of drying fruits is the best way to prevent excess fruits from being damaged. Dried fruit is sweet and crunchy and a kind of natural candy and the nutrients in it are not much different from fresh fruit. Dried fruit can be used as a snack.
